Comparison method
How to Compare Product Listings Without a Synthetic Score
A short checklist for narrowing a shortlist while keeping the seller listing as the final source of truth.
1. Define the job first
Write down the intended use, physical constraints, compatibility requirements, and budget boundary before comparing models.
2. Match exact variants
Names can cover multiple sizes, colors, capacities, bundles, or model years. Confirm that two listings describe comparable variants.
3. Separate documented facts from interpretation
Use manufacturer and seller documentation for dimensions, materials, included items, and compatibility. Treat display order and editorial grouping as navigation, not evidence of performance.
4. Recheck changing commercial terms
Price, stock, shipping, installation, warranty, and returns may change after a catalog link is checked. Verify these directly before buying.
5. Keep a decision note
Record the exact model, seller, date, and the facts that drove your decision. This makes later comparison and returns easier.
